Big Horse Trek Trail Route 2020

23/03/2020:  Trek postponed due to COVID-19.  Stay tuned for details in the future.

Big Horse Trek will travel through some of Victoria's most beautiful areas and cover a distance of over 400km over the course of about 6 weeks.

Starting in Healesville, Bec and the horses will spend the first 10 days following the Bicentennial National Trail, before veering off into the Howqua region.  They will experience the best of the western alpine region here, scooting around the back of Mount Buller, a popular winter skiing location for Australians.  They will then make their way to the town of Mansfield, where they will then follow the Great Victorian Rail Trail all the way to the trail-head at Tallarook.  The team will pass through some of Victoria's most beautiful regional towns, such as Marysville, Jamieson, Mansfield, Yea.

Get ready for mountains, rivers, old-growth forests, country roads, highways, farmland, country towns, and a whole lot of amazing Australian wildlife.

Big Horse Trek's goal is to raise at least $53 300 for cancer research via the Love Your Sister charity.  This equates to $10 per 1km Australia's Bicentennial National Trail (BNT) - the trail that Bec originally planned to complete in it's entirety with her horses before the ongoing drought and bushfires necessitated route changes.  But helping raise money for cancer research has not changed.  So please click on the 'Donate' link below to be redirected to the donations page.

Or SMS the word 'BIGHORSETREK' to 0437 371 371 to donate (Australia only).
